Edward Hatter

Matthew Miller

Matthew chairs the Nabe’s Board of Directors and is a general management executive with expertise in strategic planning, business development, contract negotiation, and marketing communication for start-ups and large companies. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts and later earned his M.B.A. from UCLA.  Matthew has lived in Potrero Hill since 2004 and is spearheading the Nabe’s marketing and fundraising efforts.

Paul Byrd

Paul is a Creative Director, founder of 13 Layers, and a community advocate. He has worked on award-winning projects in print, illustration, film production, and AI-driven creative solutions, collaborating with brands like Google, Intel, and AAA. His San Francisco-based initiatives projects include DPW Cleaner Greener, Visitors Bureau of Travel, and the Olympics bid production. Paul has been deeply involved in community advocacy, previously serving as a parent leader at Achieve Academy and a board member of Education for Change Charter Schools in Oakland, CA. As a board member of the Nabe, he will focus on various aspects of marketing, including development of its video content, social media presence, and visual branding.

Stephanie Gaywood

Stephanie joined Amazon as a senior public policy manager, overseeing community engagement and external affairs for Northern California. Before Amazon, she spent fifteen years with several Major League Baseball teams, developing leaders through their philanthropic efforts.  Stephanie has held positions on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club of Oakland and Seneca Family of Agencies reflecting her unwavering commitment to supporting marginalized and underserved communities.  Stephanie graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Arizona and earned a Master of Science from St. Thomas University.

Ann Griffin

Ann is a CPA with over 20 years of experience in public and private accounting. She has lived in Potrero Hill since 2006 and provides guidance to the Nabe’s finance director on the non-profit’s tax reporting and annual audit.

Patty Jaundzems

Patty worked as a Head Start teacher in Marin City and with the Peace Corps in Brazil after getting her degree from SF State. She has lived in Potrero Hill since 1975 and acts as the Board’s secretary.

Rosalie Lack

Rosalie Lack has more than 15 years of leadership experience working on digital initiatives at the University of California (UC) and global organizations, including eight years managing projects with partners in Africa and the Middle East. Rosalie has a Master’s degree in Information Management from UC Berkeley and a Master of Studies in Law from UC Law San Francisco. She has lived in Potrero Hill since 2003 and will be helping with grant writing and community engagement activities.

Hirsh Shah

Hirsh is a business strategy and executive management leader for early-stage companies building climate-friendly infrastructure. He is supporting the Nabe’s financial and operational planning efforts. Hirsh has lived in Potrero Hill since 2020.

Paulette Spencer

Paulette volunteers at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church and the National Council of Negro Women. She was a recipient of the Nabe's services, volunteers with Nabe, and has lived in San Francisco for all of her 70+ years.
