Aiding Juveniles in Detention (Ages 10 - 21)

Serving 20+ Youth and Young Adults Per Week Since 1997

Peer Counseling

The Peer Counseling program, running five days and two evenings per week, offers mentorship, support, and resource connection for those detained in juvenile detention. Justice-involved youth need counselors and adult allies to reduce recidivism, encourage positive activities, and offer support during and after detention. The counseling program, which is supported by the justice system, takes a spiritual approach to self-transformation and psychological awakening by empowering youth to make different lifestyle choices upon release from incarceration. It reinforces peer-to-peer support for those on the street, recently released, or on probation. The program also helps juveniles process and cope with trauma.
